The Treeing Walker is one of the greatest coonhound breeds created. This site is created with a love for the breed and the history of the breed. For those of us that have hunted for years looking at some of these pictures of the greats of the past brings back wonderful memories.
Finley River Chief was responsible for much of the excitement and growth for the breed. There are other great strains that also helped in the creation of this great breed, but in his day Finley River Chief was the gold standard of top reproducers. His DNA still runs so strong through a lot of hounds of the day. When you go back far enough you will see that the name of Chief or another name of the Finley River strain comes up a number of times in so many of the top hounds of the day.
It wasn't created to just promote one strain. It was created to share the history and stories of this great breed. Many strains that helped make this breed what it is are: Sailor Jr. (Hershberger), Johnson's Banjo, House's Queen, Mack Twain, Nance or White River King, White River Boone, White River Rowdy. These were some of the dogs that were foundation of much of what we have today. This site was created to help people remember and hopefully bring a smile or two. For those just getting started, hopefully it will provide some history of past happenings. History is important. Much has happened to get to where we are today. It is important to remember that and to give that its proper due. If you love coonhunting and the Treeing Walker breed please visit us often. This site will continually be updated with pictures, history and stories. If you may have a picture or information that should be on this site, please contact us and share with us your treasure of knowledge and history.

Honor The Past - Promote The Future
People have asked how they can help with the site and preserving the history. We have donate buttons on the site. Every cent donated will be added to pay for the bandwidth of the site.
We are always looking for old pedigrees as we continue to improve the site and add more information. If you have any old pedigrees you would allow us to use we will gladly make copies and send the original back to you. They are important in a lot of the research we do on these hounds.
We are also in need of some of the older magazines. If you have some you can let us use they will be put to good use. We will also return these if you desire. Please contact us first about these before you send any to make sure we don't have that issue.
If you have a Stud Dog you would like to have a page on the web you may contact us. We do have a Stud Dog section and it gives your Stud Dog a presence on the internet.
If you have coon hunting related products that you would like to put on the site to help sponsor it you may also contact us about that.
