The Treeing Walker is one of the greatest coonhound breeds created. This site is created with a love for the breed and the history of the breed. For those of us that have hunted for years looking at some of these pictures of the greats of the past brings back wonderful memories.

Remember The Past, That Is Where The Present Came From!
Finley River Chief was considered the Gold Standard for Top Reproducing Hounds. From 1965 to 1970 he had two sons and one grandson win the ACHA World Hunt. There are numerous world hunts now, but the ACHA World Hunt was the ONE hunt anyone would have loved to win. It was the ONE. There are numerous stains of good hounds in the treeing walker breed. We will give all of them their due.

As you can see from the ad, DUAL GRAND CH. SPRING CREEK ROCK was very active in the large competition hunts and did very well in them. He wasn't just a great producer.

One of the strains that had a great impact on the Treeing Walker Breed in the beginning and was one of the most respected strains in producing Hard Going, Cold Nose, Hard Tree Dog, Real Coon Hound was MACK TWAIN. Pictures of him are hard to find, much less ads.
